Dow Credit Union’s Saginaw Branch Welcomes 1,000th Member
February 27, 2026SAGINAW, Mich. — Dow Credit Union is proud to announce that its Saginaw Branch has officially welcomed its 1,000th member, Danielle W., a Merrill resident, two and a half years after opening its doors. This milestone highlights the growing trust and enthusiasm among Saginaw residents for Dow Credit Union’s member-first financial services, reflects the branch’s meaningful role and impact in the community, and demonstrates that residents are truly realizing that the credit union is “Open to All”.
To celebrate this milestone, Dow Credit Union is inviting community members to visit the Saginaw branch at 5420 Gratiot Rd. throughout the month of March to nominate a nonprofit headquartered in Saginaw County for a chance to receive a $1,000 community donation. To participate, simply stop by the branch during normal business hours and complete a brief Official Nomination Form that includes the nominator’s name and contact information, the name of the nonprofit, and a short description—100 words or fewer—explaining why the organization is deserving of the donation. To ensure fairness, we kindly ask that each person submit only one nomination. All nominations will be reviewed by a Community Support Selection Committee, and the selected nonprofit will be announced on Wednesday, April 15, 2026.1
“Our Saginaw Branch has quickly become a vital hub for the community,” said Michael Goad, President/CEO of Dow Credit Union. “Reaching our 1,000th member is more than a number—it’s a reflection of the trust and relationships we’ve built. Each member’s success is our success, and we’re proud to provide the tools, resources, and services that help our members thrive and strengthen the Saginaw community.”
Since opening, the Saginaw Branch has played an integral role in strengthening Dow Credit Union’s presence throughout the Great Lakes Bay Region. Deposits at the branch exceed $51.7 million, contributing to the credit union’s strong $2.6 billion asset base. The branch underscores its value as both a trusted financial partner and a community resource, broadening its local impact through financial education programs, university partnerships, nonprofit initiatives, and support for home repair grants.
“Every member who joins us represents a partnership built on trust, transparency, and shared success,” added Elton Brooks, Chief Retail & Lending Officer. “This milestone is our opportunity to thank them and celebrate the difference we make together in Saginaw.”
This growth aligns with a landmark year for Dow Credit Union overall. Within the last year, the organization has earned multiple national recognitions for deposit products, expanded statewide membership to all Michiganders, eliminated NSF fees, launched business accounts, and introduced Preferred Checking—an activity-based account designed to help members earn up to 5.12% APY on qualifying checking balances.2 The credit union also returned over $18 million to members through its 2025 member giveback.3
Community leaders have also taken note of the branch’s continued success and community contributions. Eugene Seals, President of the Saginaw Chamber of Commerce said, “Dow Credit Union’s Saginaw Branch has truly become a cornerstone for our local community. Welcoming the 1,000th member is a testament to the trust and strong relationships they’ve built with residents and businesses alike. Their commitment to supporting financial wellness, local initiatives, and community partnerships makes a real difference in Saginaw, and we’re proud to celebrate this milestone with them.”
Reaching the 1,000-member milestone underscores the strong relationships the Saginaw team has built and reflects the community’s confidence in Dow Credit Union’s dedication to putting members first.
