Dow Credit Union's Funds Availability Policy
Effective August 1, 2024
When check(s) are deposited to a member’s account, funds may not be available immediately. In most cases, up to $300 will be available on the day of deposit and depending on the amount of the check and how it was deposited, the funds may be available with a graduated or tiered release.
Additionally, the Credit Union is changing from “everyday” is a business day to a true Monday-Friday excluding federal holiday business days.

Deposits Tier Definitions
ATM deposits at Dow Credit Union ATMs are released in tiers based on the aggregate deposits for the Business Day.
- Small Deposits are defined as aggregate check transactions totaling $7,000 or less for the Business Day.
- Large Deposits are defined as aggregate check transactions totaling more than $7,000 for the Business Day.
Holidays
- If a holiday falls between Day of Deposit and Small Release Day, then the Small Release Day rolls to the next Business Day.
- If a holiday falls between Day of Deposit and Large Release Day, then the Large Release Day rolls to the next Business Day.
- If the Day of Deposit is a holiday, then the Day of Deposit counts on the next Business Day.
- If the Release Day falls on a holiday, then the Release Day rolls to the next Business Day.
