Grand Opening Festivities Held at Saginaw Branch

September 29, 2023

SAGINAW - Dow Credit Union hosted a week of festivities and giveaways at our new building in Saginaw Township from Sept. 25-29; for the first time in an 86-year history, we are serving our members through two branches.

“As a member of the community outreach team, I was at the new branch all week,” Program Coordinator Walt Hall said. “This has been years in the making, and so many people came together to make it happen.”

With updates to the building at 5420 Gratiot Rd. completed, we welcomed the community to experience the space, learn more about our services, and celebrate new opportunities. Each day in our Grand Opening Week had its own theme and unique giveaways for the public.

  • Monday, September 25: "Hometown Heroes" day honored those who served, both military and first responders. Cookies from All About Chocolate & More were served.

  •   Tuesday, September 26: "Taco Tuesday" featured free tacos and churros from Maria's Tacos food truck between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.

  • Wednesday, September 27: "Scoop up the Savings" was held from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.; each visitor enjoyed their own bowl of Great Lakes ice cream.

  • Thursday, September 28: Leaman’s Green Applebarn Cider Donuts and Biggby Coffee were provided from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. during "Brunch at the Branch."

  • Friday, September 29: The branch hosted "Franks on Friday from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., during which guests received a lunch platter of All-American hot dogs and chips from Riverside Family Restaurant.

Over 300 people visited the branch over the course of the week; moreover, we processed dozens of new members.

“The grand opening was a great opportunity to bring a variety of people in the community together,” Emily Migut, manager of the Saginaw branch, said. “I truly enjoyed watching people enjoying each other's company and listening to the laughter.”
