Transfer funds to and from accounts you hold at other financial institutions. External Transfers make it easy and secure to complete one-time or recurring transfers between your account at Dow Credit Union and an account you hold at another credit union or bank.
To get started, you will need the Routing Number, Account Number, and type (checking or savings) of the external account.
- In Online Banking, navigate to the ‘Accounts’ section and select ‘Add an external transfer account’.
- In the Mobile App, navigate to the ‘Accounts’ section, hit the plus sign to add an account, and select ‘Make external transfers’.
When adding a financial institution for the first time, confirmation is required. Two small deposits (each under $1) will be sent to the account you are setting up. One withdrawal (debit) may be made from the account in the same total amount as the deposits. You will be required to enter the two credit amounts deposited in order to verify access to your account. These transactions generally take 1-3 business days to process.
Once a financial institution is verified, an External Transfer can be completed.

Pay bills and manage payees conveniently from any device using Bill Pay! With Bill Pay, you can pay anyone in the United States - from mortgage companies to auto lenders to credit card companies to your lawn service. It’s free, safe, secure and easy to use.
Sent directly to you via email, text message or in-app message. Alerts can notify you of certain transactions or activity occurring in your account. Sent within minutes of the actual event, you can set up and customize Alerts to your specific needs.
- Transaction alerts will notify you any time there is a transaction above a specified dollar amount.
- Balance alerts will notify you when your account balance goes above or below a certain dollar amount.
Send and receive messages securely with Dow Credit Union staff using conversations. You can upload documents, request fund transfers, or complete inquiries and maintenance.
In the event you choose to communicate through Messages, please note that Dow Credit Union will respond to you by the end of the next business day. If immediate attention is desired, please contact us during normal business hours.

Documents allow you to receive any one or more of the following: your Dow Credit Union periodic statements, notices, tax forms, disclosures and agreements online in an electronic format rather than paper. With Documents, you will receive an email notification each time a new Document becomes available for viewing.
Instead of visiting the credit union or an ATM to deposit a check, simply snap a picture of the front and back of your endorsed check and submit it for deposit with our Mobile App on a supported mobile device.
Note: You should retain the original imaged item that has been deposited via Deposit Check for a reasonable period of time in order to verify settlement and credit or to balance periodic statements, but in no case beyond ninety (90) days from the date processed. You are required to properly destroy and dispose of such original item after such time.
Availability of funds matches that of our Account Agreement and Disclosure. Adjustments may still occur even after your funds have been made fully available.
